#Finding Purpose in IT Sales

My first time in IT sales.Turning Experiences into Growth: The Great Joy of Trust!

Before I started working in IT sales, I thought sales was a glamorous field where people with strong communication skills could really shine. Although I had some sales experience, this was my first time in IT sales, and once I actually joined the company, I faced the challenge of working behind the scenes—handling detailed coordination with engineers and serving as the “unsung hero.” Sometimes, friends cannot understand my specific job problems. But at SUN, I have great managers and teammates. We can talk about anything easily and even complain to each other on the same level! With their support, I can climb over high walls.
When I finally win a contract, the happy feeling is special! Now, I feel a true sense of success and love my job so much.On my days off, I switch gears by enjoying good food or going to the gym, and I really love my current work environment, where I can stay highly motivated and be myself.

From the humanities to engineering, and then to advertising sales. After gaining a variety of experiences, I found my way into IT sales

After graduating from college with a humanities degree, I got interested in the IT world because of my father. He was an engineer. So, I became an engineer without any experience. However, my daily work was just checking systems 24 hours a day, including night shifts. It was the same routine every day. I could not find any fun or future in it, and I felt very anxious. So, I changed my job and entered an advertising company as a sales staff—again, without any experience!
At that company, I had to make 130 cold calls every day and create images. I was too busy. I asked myself again, 'Do I want to work just for sales numbers?' I wanted a job that made me excited about my future, so I decided to change my job again. I looked for a workplace where I could use both of my skills: my tech knowledge from my first job, and my sales skills from my second job. Then, I found IT sales! All of my past choices looked like long detours before, but now, they are my greatest strengths.

Making My Own Schedule: The Fun of Freedom and Trust!

What I realized after actually starting the job is that I have much more autonomy than I had imagined. There’s a culture here that respects “doing things your own way,” so I’m free to plan my daily schedule and approach my sales activities however I see fit.Compared to my previous routine work, I have much more freedom here. Of course, I have to make my own decisions and take responsibility for them. But that’s exactly what makes my job so stimulating and rewarding.
The best part of this job is that the results come back directly in proportion to the effort I put in. Of course, securing new contracts is rewarding, but what really makes me feel that I’ve built a strong relationship of trust with a client is when one project leads to the next. Those are the moments when I’m truly glad I chose a career in sales.
