First foray into the Philippines, Malaysia, and Nepal! Japanese language learning app “KURASHI STUDY” over 20,000 downloads Overseas expansion, second phase, starting today

“KURASHI STUDY” is an app for enjoying learning Japanese through stories. Since its release in March 2021, the app has been sold in Japan, India, and Bangladesh, and has been downloaded more than 20,000 times. The iOS and Android versions of “KURASHI STUDY” are now available in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Nepal with this second release of our overseas expansion.

■ Our passion for overseas expansion
Due to the global spread of the coronavirus, many international students who were planning to study in Japan, as well as specified skilled workers and technical interns who were planning to work in Japan, have been unable to enter Japan. According to some newspaper reports, as of October 1, approximately 370,000 foreigners who have received Certificate of Eligibility for Resident Status from the Immigration Service Agency have not been able to come to Japan due to prolonged COVID-19 entry restrictions at airports and ports. For a period of time in November, the government had finally started to allow foreign technical interns, international students, and short-stay business people to enter Japan on a conditional basis, gradually easing the entry restrictions.

Developed for foreigners who are starting a new life in Japan, “KURASHI STUDY” is a story-based Japanese language learning app featuring scenes from Japanese life. It was developed with the concept of “Discover Japan, Lovin’ Japan Live your way” and allows users to not only learn the language, but also learn “Life Knowledge” such as customs and administrative rules.

With the easing of immigration restrictions and the expected increase in the number of foreigners coming to Japan, we felt the need to deliver a Japanese language learning app that is close to the “Life in Japan” to Japanese language learners around the world. This time, our overseas expansion will be in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Nepal, but we are planning to expand our overseas areas in the future in order to deliver learning apps that can replace schools and textbooks to the world.

Based on a total of 96 stories about life in Japan, you can study Japanese grammar, expressions, vocabulary, and pronunciation through the conversations of the characters. All the conversations in the stories are audio recorded, and can be used for listening and pronunciation practice. You can study Japanese reading, listening, and speaking skills independently without going to school. It also has an “Online Japanese Conversation” service where you can take private lessons with a professional Japanese language teacher. You can freely ask for advice on things you don’t understand in your independent study, or if you have any problems in your life in Japan. *Note: This function is a paid option.
